If you’re not a fan of citrus, their capsules may be a more ideal solution – more on that below. All in one 30ml bottle, we had the choice between 250mg, 500mg, and 1,000mg; adding up to 8mg, 17mg, or 33mg a serving, respectively. Overall, the orange flavor comes through well enough to hide the earthy hemp taste we’re accustomed to and don’t particularly like.

Combined with CBD, their proprietary blend provided a powerful entourage effect that provided the outcome we were looking for in about 15 minutes. Everyone is different, but if you sublingually dose by putting the serving under your tongue, it’s likely to take effect far quicker. We saw this more ideal for daytime use, especially with the energizing taste of citrus to pair with such a powerful full spectrum formula.

In each softgel, you get either 15mg or 25mg per serving (for their 450mg or 750mg containers, respectively). Providing the same full spectrum formula that we tasted in their CBD tincture, the delay in relief was noticeable. As opposed to 15 minutes with the hemp oil, it took one hour – sometimes longer – for the capsules to start providing the relief we were looking for. While waiting a longer amount of time for relief is a downside, their hemp oil softgel capsules are a great way to consume their full spectrum CBD without having to taste it. Using their hemp extract, Arnica, chamomile, and aloe vera, the soothing, cooling relief is almost immediate. We could see this being used regularly for aching muscles and joint pain. Our Populum coupons work for all products including the topical rub.

The problem most pet owners run into is getting the hemp oil under their pet’s tongue. We were happy to see Populum directly reassure that the oil can also be added into your cat or dog’s food if placing drops onto their tongue isn’t feasible.

Since the dosage for Populum’s capsules is self-explanatory (with one precise serving in each softgel), and their CBD topical can be applied on an as-needed basis, we’re going to zero in on serving suggestions for their hemp CBD oil.

Populum’s suggested serving size is 1ml (equivalent to one full dropper of oil), consistent no matter the formula strength, so each bottle contains 30 servings. However, everyone is different; an ideal serving size to you could be half a dropper, or it could be more than a dropper full.

The company also recommends placing your preferred serving amount under your tongue and holding it for 30 seconds. To optimize efficacy, you can then gently apply the oil around your inner cheeks and gums. After you take a few deep, slow breaths, swallow the rest of the oil. This is what allows the cannabinoids and terpenes to easier reach your bloodstream, rather than being absorbed far slower in the stomach.

We’re pleased to note that Populum’s independent, third-party lab testing reports are rather comprehensive. They test every batch to correlate with the batch or lot number that ends up on the product label.

Each Certificate of Analysis includes a detailed breakdown of the cannabinoid profile in the product as well as the potency levels for each cannabinoid. Below that is another thorough breakdown of the terpene profile. Then, to test for safety and purity, they also do rigorous mycotoxin and residual solvent testing.

Populum has their lab results visible for each of their products at multiple spots on their site, reinforcing that they want you to see the reports and they’re confident in the results. They even provide a helpful explanation at the top of each report to explain how to read the lab result and what each section specifically tests for.
